The
designs for the trolls, (that follow) were
the one element of the production that
caused problems for both George Hall (music)
and Litz Pisk (movement) who both felt that
they impeded any contribution from the
actors. In recent interviews an additional
criticism has emerged suggesting that they
were too "cuddly" more like Wombles than
fulfilling Ibsen's perceived intention of
expressing something more sexual and violent
in humanity.
